Working principle

Roots blower belongs to the positive displacement rotary fan, which compresses and delivers gas through the relative motion of two blade rotors in the cylinder. When the rotor rotates, negative pressure is formed at the inlet, which sucks in air. As the rotor rotates, the gas is enclosed between the rotor and the casing, and then discharged from the outlet. In a pneumatic conveying system, it provides power for material conveying, forms a stable airflow, and drives the material to move in the pipeline.

Performance characteristics

It has the characteristics of simple structure, easy maintenance, large conveying capacity, and stable pressure. It can adapt to the material conveying requirements of different distances and heights, and the output flow rate basically does not change with pressure changes, ensuring the stability of the conveying process. However, the Roots blower produces relatively high noise during operation and usually requires a silencing device.

Widely used in the pneumatic conveying of powdered and granular materials in industries such as chemical, building materials, grain, and electricity, such as cement, coal powder, grains, fertilizers, etc.
